How ecstatic we were to be working once more at the idyllic Old Mac Daddy location in Elgin. This time the goal was to design a private residence for one of the owners of the hotel. The result was one of the most dynamic spaces we’ve ever created. Appointed on a bank with a view over the playful dam, boarded by orchards and with panoramic views of the valley, lead to a building with spacious areas integrating harmoniously with the bountiful surroundings. The use of dark timber externally, and light wood internally, contributed to a subtle and warm feel respectively.
